Picking the right tool for the job
When it comes to picking the right tool for a job, there are a few factors to consider.
What is this tool going to be used for?
How is this tool going to be carried?
Does this tool need to be concealed?
Windy Raven currently makes seven different fixed-blade tools: Anathema, Corax, Espina, Erinyes, Little Feather, Stumpy Joe, and Wizard Finger.
First up, the Corax

The Corax is one of our original designs, and it was a runaway favorite. Designed with one function in mind, self-defense, this tool is made to perform. The Corax is a pikal-style blade and is meant to be held in a reverse grip.
The details: this blade weighs in around 4.8 oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 3” and a handle length of 4” (for an overall length of 7”).
Want something a little more concealable? Introducing the Stumpy Joe

The Stumpy Joe is our most concealable, low-profile, self-defense blade. Proof that a small blade can get a lot done. This is a pikal-style blade, intended to be held in a reverse grip, just like the Corax. Paired with a deep carry sheath, this blade can hide just about anywhere.
The details: this blade weighs in around 3oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 2.5” and a handle length of 4” (for an overall length of 6.5”).
Want another option in the fight? The Erinyes will give you an advantage

Released in 2025, the Erinyes is a persian fighter with a generous blade-to-hand ratio. The Erinyes, or Furies, were three Greek goddesses of vengeance, retribution, and justice. They were known for enforcing moral law in the underworld. Our Blade could certainly live up to that function.
The details: this blade weighs in around 6.2 oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 4.25” and a handle length of 4” (for an overall length of 8.25”).
Need an all-around EDC? How about the Wizard Finger?

The Wizard Finger is one of our original designs and a great all-around EDC tool featuring a recurve blade while still easy to conceal.
The details: this blade weighs in around 4.2 oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 3.25” and a handle length of 4” (for an overall length of 7.25”).
Want something a little bigger? You might like the Anathema

The Anathema joined the lineup in 2021 and has been a hit ever since. We were asked to make a larger blade than our Wizard finger, and the Anathema was the result. A versatile blade, this is a popular EDC pick. The word Anathema can be defined as something or someone to be avoided, and if you need to deploy this blade, we think your adversary will want to avoid you, too. This model is great for people with larger hands, as it has the largest handle in the lineup.
The details: this blade weighs in around 5.5 oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 4” and a handle length of 4.5” (for an overall length of 8.5”).
Want something a bit on the petite end? Take a look at the Little Feather

Folks wanted a lower-profile option to the Wizard Finger, so we released the Little Feather in 2020. As a scaled-down version of the Wizard Finger, this blade is proof that a little blade can do big jobs.
The details: this blade weighs in around 3.8 oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 2.5” and a handle length of 4” (for an overall length of 6.5”).
And finally, we round out the fixed blade collection with the Espina

Launched in 2024, the Espina (named after a desert thorn) quickly found a top spot in our lineup. This is a point-driven tool that was inspired by the Arkansas Toothpick.
The details: this blade weighs in around 4.1 oz (depending on the wrap) and has a blade length of 3” and a handle length of 4” (for an overall length of 7”).

A trustworthy tool can be used for anything from box opening to self-defense. And let’s face it, you’ll probably be utilizing your tool for all the everyday tasks most of the time.
But the peace of mind that comes from having a tool that is durable, dependable, and quick to use in a self-defense scenario cannot be overstated.
It is important to know about your local and state regulations regarding legality. Make sure that your tool is within the blade length restrictions set by your state, local municipality, and any destination you may be visiting.
